Field Trip for Mrs. CrazyWitch
1. Pearl Harbor (Hawaii)
So I am sure everyone knows about Pearl Harbor and what happened on December 7, 1941. But I am sure CrazyWitch doesn't so here it is. On the morning December 7th the Japanese fired on the naval base in Pearl Harbor. Americans never saw it coming. Over three thousand casualties happened that day. This was the "trigger" for the Americans to go to war. The Japanese awoke the sleeping dragon. Neutrality is over and done with!
This was a Military issue because the Japanese destroyed a lot of the Americans naval equipment. Also many of the aircraft were destroyed. So they had to rebuild everything

The Arizona memorial is about the ship that sunk because of the attack. It is to pay your respects and have some historical history.

2. Camp O"Donnell (Philippines)
Camp O" Donnell was the final stop on the Bataan Death March. It was used as an internment camp for Filipinos and Americans. Around 20,000 Filipinos and 1,600 Americans died at Camp O' Donnell. Filipino and American soldiers were said to have been beheaded in front of open graves. They were saved by the US Army and Philippine Commonwealth Army on January 30, 1945.
This was a Social issue. Just like the Japanese in america, the Americans and Filipinos were put into internment camps. Many of the American soldiers were killed and or died because of poor treatment. This was defiantly not a moral booster for the Americans after being defeated at the Bataan battle. This also could be a Military issue because it weakened the army a lot.

It was known as D-Day. It was the most memorable battles of WWII. A lot of death happened on this day. But it was a turning point in the war.
This was a Military Issue. The normandy invasion began with overnight parachute and glider landings, massive air attacks and naval bombardments. In the early morning, amphibious landings on five beaches code named Juno, Gold, Omaha, Utah, and Sword began and during the evening the remaining elements of the parachute divisions landed. The D-Day forces deployed from bases along the south coast of England, the most important of these was portsmouth.

This is were the Tuskegee Airmen practiced and trained before going to battle in Europe. It was the first Black air force team. The 99th pursuit air squadron. When blacks were put into air force, FDR established the FEPC which monitored Compliance with his edict. The CORE was founded during this time. It was an organization committed to nonviolent direct action.
This is a military issue because the Americans were allowing blacks to be in the air force Its a development for the blacks and for the American military.
